Not trying to take anything away from NMRIH, as its one of if not the best zombie games I've played, but this Day Z is tons of fun too, and I figured some of you who have ARMA2 might enjoy it.

Basicly its an open world zombie survival game. You search houses, barns, stores, gast stations etc. for items and things to help you survive. You can hunt, gut, cook, and eat animals that roam the lands. You can collect the bolts from a cross bow after you shoot it. (Just like Daryl) You can team up with players, or kill players to take their gear, so every encounter leaves you on edge wondering if this new found 'friend' will stab you in the back. When you die, you start over with the generic load out, but if you survive, your character saves and is cross-server saved so you pick up right where you left off. You can also sneak by zombies, and the whole thing is about stealth. Theres a new realistic healing/medic system and tons of other features. At this very second, the game has run into a problem and most people can't join because they get stuck at a loading screen, but I'm confident it will be fixed by tomorrow at the rate they've been pumping out patches. I would check it out if I were you!

Did any of the devs speak out the title of their zombie mod aloud and think for a second? "Daisy. Hm. Maybe not the best title for a zombie mod.".
Looks cool though, although I prefer slow zombies. I'll definitely check it out.

Looks fun, but the ARMA 2 engine starts ripping at the seams during normal gameplay.

What I hate about these Zombie mods is that the Zombies are always stock ARMA 2 civillians with all their equipment removed (with a bit of blood on them/a reskin) that run after players. I've yet to see an ARMA 2 mod that does the whole Zombie thing well, which is basically due to engine limitations. The only thing its got going for it is vehicles/wide open spaces/ballistics.

The AI/animation/movement systems still leave a lot to be desired.

Being alone was like a strong spiritual windy force against you... but not like it's pushing you, but felt there... as if your soul; every soul had a very deep and dark elevator to the center of the Earth; thath a very dark and sacred... holy place brought by time, fire, and darkness.

Have you tried this sounds fakeish I mean no offense but no installer and there is about 10 different files you have to download (and then manually install).

Thats what I used to think, but apparently its DayZ, so it should sound like "Days". I suppose like the days going by? Maybe they got the idea from The Walking Dead first book, Days Gone Bye.

I agree with you, on all the other zombie mods, but this one is different, I promise. I've tried almost every ARMA2 zombie mod there is, and this one takes the cake. The zombies stumble around and look just like classic slow zombies, and then when they see you they sprint after you. This is the best thing the devs could have done for ARMA2 cause if they were all slow, they would be almost no threat at all in the ARMA2 engine. Yes, they are reskinned civilians, with blood on them, but why not? They still look like zombies, and the reskinning is pretty good, giving them gray skin. The animations are still not perfect, and there being worked on still, but its more about the atmosphere this game gives off. They even crowd around a killed survivor and eat them when they die. Today I actually did an Otis situation and shot a guy I was running with so I could get away.. I agree though, I wish they looked like the NMRIH zombies, only way it could get better =P

When I first checked the video, I was "meh".. but when I saw this zombie start his ultra-fast running, accelerating to top speed in 0.0001 seconds, it was the last thing I want to see. Sure it's early, but that stuff doesn't convince me at all. Shooting looked like it doesn't work at all, especially sniper rifle. The whole thing just didn't impress me at all.

I started playing, kinda hard to understand, but im working on it.

I have a feeling it would be more fun with friends, so if you are playing add me on steam. Malek91 my avatar is the same


Serious lone survivor feeling is cool though, i was literally out in the middle of nowhere when I spawned. And I really like the whole scavenging thing and looking for food. Pretty awesome.

I agree the zombies are way too fast. But it adds to the whole "stay down and dont attract attention" feel.

I just really like the whole internal fight you have when you see someone else playing "Do I jump up and call them over, or are they going to shoot me" haha pretty awesome.

Radcon and I just watched the entire five part Shacktac video series of this mod last night. We were also talking about getting a Sunday Funday event up and running some weekend.

New folder, I put them in both game files.

It's cool, but fuckin ArmA nights man. They're so retardedly dark that you can see nothing. Absolutely nothing except the very edges of silhouettes where they meet the sky. Everything between is fucking invisible. So walking around in the night, you HAVE to use flares because (at least for me) the "working" flashlights don't fuckin work. And you check out a house, wondering what's in there. You get some stuff. The retardedly limited inventory space makes you puke a little bit, then you walk outside - OH FUCK TWELVE TOURETTE'S ZOMBIES RUNNING BETTER WATCH OUT ARMA'S AIMING SYSTEM SUCKS ASS FOR URBAN ENVIRONMENTS.

Basically, ArmA2 makes me angry sometimes.

I'm not easy to get rid of and I thought I made that pretty clear in a few previous posts[.] Like I said, I think I ended up pissing people off more than they pissed me off. At first I hated Noobbot most of all then I realized how intelligent the asshole really was. Other members just annoyed me (sidra) and that is the reason I've been so emphatic.

ArmA's a great game but I just wish it didn't have those really snappy animations; it'd be interesting if this'll be ported to ArmA 3

Zombies are also attracted to camp fires I learned. So you are shit out of luck there as well.

yeah but it's supposed to be hella dark at night out in butt fuck egypt or where ever you're at mang. it's pitch black out where i live at and i mean pitch fucking black (except when the moon is out obviously) and most of ArmA takes place out in the country of some fuckin country. i drop flares just to go check my mail box at night :D well i could if i wanted, it's dark enough to warrant it...

you don't put them everywhere you put them somewhere...if logic and nature like that worked, just think of the implications it would have on semen.

I don't need another fucking semen lecture from you, Dad. All I know is that it didn't work in the "right" place, so I put it in every place. There's no way you can't fucking find it.

Same thing with the files. Doesn't help that the game launcher is all "Does you wanta launch Arma 2 or Arma 2 Operation Penetration or Arma 2 Combined Operations" - it's the same fucking game. Just launch something from somewhere.

1. Download a mod launcher ( http://www.armaholic...page.php?id=410 )
2. Go to you arma 2 root folder ( C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 ) <--- that's mine
3. Create a folder for all the mods (If the mod say @ACE, @CBA then just put the @ACE, @CBA folder straight into the root folder, if it has no Addons folder inside the @example folder then create one and put the .BiSign and the .pbo in there
4. Use the mod launcher to run the mods

(try searching install mods on the armaholic forms and install arma addons on youtube)
