Changes in Isolated

Firts, godspots. The armchair in zone A near the fireplace, the crushed car, the pickup and the table at the top of the stairs are places where you can stay and be invincible, and for example, drop health crates at zombies untill the final wave.
Second, there is a hole in a displacement outisde, near the zone A.
Third, optimatisation. This map has dropped my framerate and I am not only one with this issue. According to Xaymar, this map has no hint brushes and areaportals. I don't know if it's true, but framerate is droppin in some places for sure. I would also suggest decreasing fadedistance for some minor props like cups and pictures (I don't know if it is set already)
Fourth, the stairway leading to the basement could be a little wider, so blocking 30 zombies in one place by a med crate won't be a problem.

thx lt, i wasn't aware of the frame rate issue, dont know who xaymar is but the whole house is areaportaled, ill see what i can do in the way of fade distance on more things, as for the health crates, i could be rearranging the whole map to solve that issueI start this topic to point out a few things:

I only said it had no hint brushes as the areas it showed portals at seemed very strange, which is why I assumed that there are little to none hint brushes. I can only tell from what the engine gives me.thx lt, i wasn't aware of the frame rate issue, dont know who xaymar is but the whole house is areaportaled, ill see what i can do in the way of fade distance on more things, as for the health crates, i could be rearranging the whole map to solve that issue
Considering that I usually play at above 200 fps and this map dropped mine to about 40, I'd say there are some problems.
Also, I've listed the places(with images) in a seperate thread: http://www.nomoreroo...?showtopic=7785
Aside from the above, it is unclear where the zones are on the map. It took me several tries to finally get where they are and block those spots off, with props or distraction players(in safe spots).
Edit: Oh and for your "whole house is areaportaled" statement, you'd better check that again:

Basically you're telling the game to render the entire house whenever it is in range. And all parts of the outside world.

I personally don't notice that much of an fps drop until check the numbers, I'm used to getting a solid 300 and when I play Isolated I think it's around 180-210, sometimes less that 100 in some areas, but even 100 fps is quite good enough to play, but that's 200 less than my usual, which can make a huge difference to someone else who might not be playing on as nice a machine as me (and my machine isn't that nice).
EDIT: I doubled checked, I average about 75-85 throughout the whole map. I don't know where I got 180-210 from.

Anyway think of it this way 100 fps is 10x the amount that I get...at max...(well at least on this map
Also @TheReverend a contribution doesn't exactly mean he's staff although make sure to mention him (like in credits if you ever add them) or in the readme.

Well also, I have this pretty decent PC right, but I have satellite internet; meaning I basically can't game online without 900+ ping and a 3 second in-game delay. I moved almost 2 years ago, I used to have good internet hence the good PC, but now I'm just screwed. I tried playing Isolated online a few hours ago, and I'm lucky I connected, I couldn't even move once I got in game

I vote for lou saffire to have his title changed to staff since one of his maps is now in the official mod.
He's not staff. He's contributor from the community. Maybe he could have that kind of title.

i appreciate you taking an interest in the map and if the area portals don't work properly at the moment then its good to know they need fixing.
