My and at least a couple other buddies only have working flashlights when used in conjunction with a pistol. the flashlight on its own doesnt work.
Also i would like to host a game on my computer, do i need to open any specific ports on my router to allow other people to join me?

You have to right click to turn on the flashlight when it is by itself.
In order to host a game you'll need to forward port 27015, and set sv_lan to 0 in console.

Which reminds me - it would be neat if you still had the flashlight equipped and turned on when switching from solo flashlight to pistol.
No reason not to AUTOMATICALLY equip the flashlight with the one-handed weapon, now that I think about it.
Right now it's:
-Flashlight equipped, turned on.
-Equip one-handed weapon (flashlight gone)
-Equip flashlight
-Turn on flashlight
Since time is of the essence and you use the flashlight quite a lot, this leads to frustrating, unnecessary and potentially deadly fiddling.
So either make it so that the flashlight is ALWAYS equipped when you whip out a one-handed weapon, or keep the flashlight equipped when whipping out a one-handed weapon. Thank you.
