Or just Demonic people with Wings.

I don't know my limits, or maybe I do, and perhaps I just wish to defy them.

I really love HoTD. I was hoping for some likewise creatures.
Shamblers you have are cool and old, rael old school, which is what the mod is going for.
But it also leaves the mod painfully dry of challenging enemies. The only times I actually die in the mod is if some weird glitch happens where I'm suddenly stuck in the ground, or I just stop caring and melee as they bite me.

I don't know my limits, or maybe I do, and perhaps I just wish to defy them.

Would "Dawn of the Dead" have been better with winged demons? There are no "evil powers" in "true" zombie stories - except for humans.
Fuck that RE shit. Fuck Dead Island. Fuck L4D. Fuck Dead Rising. THIS is the purest old school zombie game of its kind. This is were TRUE zombie fans come to worship their fetish. Don't ruin it with fucking flying hellhounds with fire-breathing tentacles or some shit. Even the running zombies are borderline material IMHO.
To me, saying something like this is like saying "Only having soldiers as enemies in WW2 games is boring, let's add some giant robots".
The mod has enough options to work with without breaking the classical zombie scenario. Different kinds of zombies (WITHOUT supernatural powers), like armored zombies, zombies that move more "elaborat" so headshots are harder, fat zombies that take way more damage to the body and are harder to shove away, crawling zombies that grab your ankles, Hazmat suit/Firemen zombies that are immune to fire (which is going to play a bigger role in future releases afaict), stronger zombies; as well as HUMAN opponents with everything that comes along with that, and living WILD dogs etc. are an option as well.
That's a LOT to work with without having to wake up Great Cthulhu.
Agatsu sounds like he almost knows what he's talking about.

STFU Joe and don't give him hope.
don't worry mate, I think Joe was simply referring to other possible enemies in the future that do fit the theme

staying on topic here has a similar effect akin to splashing holy water on a recently possessed girl who just shoved her bloody vagina into a priests face.
or
the chances of staying on topic here range somewhere between maxx accepting christ as his lord and savior to maxx wearing a shirt.
or
i guess i should say, the chances of me staying on topic is as likely as me using capitalization or making a sentence whose time tenses all match or me making a post that doesn't use "..." in it.

But I beleive it could range as high as this:
Also, I spell beleive that way on purpose, because there is no "lie" in what I "beleive," yo.

Really, if this game wants to be challenging it doesn't need to have crazy gunplay... just crazy survival play. I personally want to see maps that are the real enemy. Things like, go from point A to point B but I WONT TELL YOU HOW... oh and here are some zombies to really make you afraid... and the house you are in? Guess what? Its on fire and spreading! (there is a fire extinguisher weapon ^^)
The puzzle mechanics play right into this and that makes me super happy.
The 'Fire Alarm' objective in the convienient store is one such example. Its not a blatantly obvious objective, sure you are told about it, but the actual objective isn't highlighted.
