when i lived in VA and was in early high school this satanist chick i was dating had a substitute teacher in her french class who we ended up hangin out with after school a few times and her brother happened to be the drummer for the band arghoslent and he sent me a signed tape of their album which was cool and all...then i found out that they're...ya know...racists :/

i can listen to satanic music and i generally believe it should be people's actions instead of their views that they should be judged by but once i see there's a ignorant wall up ahead directed solely at certain factors that a human being has no control over, i can't help but find myself wanting to go the other way. as far as i'm concerned every group of people have a massive chunk of fuck sticks that make the rest of them look bad. i'll save the sermon for another time.

a flash back to mid high school when i played entirely too much castlevania symphony of the night and drew too much of it as well. i remember getting my first scanner and pasting horrible scanned patterns into my pictures like i was masamune shirow or some shit. i came across my old ps1 copy of castlevania and it still had the 2 hand drawn covers on it. i love earlier cradle(as ghey as it was at times), it's fun stuff.

that's me...a 31 year old kid who listened to the 2 mentioned bands back when they were new and doing something different before they became sell outs. but please continue to tell me stuff about me from your wealth of knowledge divined from this 1 page of this thread. darkthrone, dimmu, cradle, marduk, emperor, gorgoroth, immortal etc 1991-1994 all more or less the same vein of music...i think we're beginning to see who the kid is here friendo, or do i need to toss up the fact that i was listening to bathory's under the sign of the black mark and absu's v.i.t.r.i.o.l. when everyone else i know was still wanking their dicks to 80's metal or pantera's cowboys from hell when i was young lad to be deemed worthy in your eyes?

ragnarok is on par with tsjuder and from around the same time period and even they had shagrath on keyboards. yeah newer cradle and dimmu are lame but there was a time when they and every other black metal band were just as new and sounded similar. cradle didn't start sucking until around midian and dimmu around death cult armada.

they sold out down the line but cradle's early tracks sound nothing like "dusk and her embrace" on. all manner of bands sell out, it doesn't stop their music prior to then from being good.
case in point.
